  1. THE DAY OF ANDALUSIA AND ANDALUSIA

    THE DAY OF ANDALUSIA:
On Thursday, the 28th of February, we celebrate the Day Of Andalusia. It commemorates the referendum of 1980.
We also celebrate the Day of Andalusia at “Los Carmenes” School the 27th because the 28th there is no school. We eat bread with olive oil and cured ham. We sing the Anthem of Andalusia.

    ANDALUSIA:
Andalusia is an Autonomous Community. It is divided into eight provinces: Almeria, Granada, Jaen, Malaga, Cordoba, Seville, Cadiz and Huelva. Andalusia is in the south of Spain. Its capital is Seville.
Andalusia has some important mountains and rivers, such as Sierra Nevada and the Guadalquivir River.
The weather is not cold in summer but, in winter, it is cold in the highest zones.
Andalusian people are very friendly. Andalusians speak Spanish with Andalusian accent. I am proud of my Andalusian accent because it is part of our identity.

I love Andalusia because its culture and monuments are wonderful.
    Andalusia has important things:
-Cities such as Granada, Cordoba and Seville; towns such as Ubeda and Baeza, and beautiful villages in the Alpujarras such as Pampaneira, Lanjarón and Trevélez.

-Important monuments like the Alhambra and the Generalife gardens, the Mosque and the Giralda. The Alhambra is a Muslim castle of Granada which is very famous. In Granada there are “carmenes”, which are houses with beautiful gardens.

-Coasts, such as the “Costa del Sol” and the “Costa de Almeria” They have important beaches and capes like the “cabo de Gata”.

-Mountains, such as Grazalema, in Cadiz; Sierra Nevada, in Granada; and Cazorla, in Jaen. They are beautiful.

    Andalusian traditions are very famous:
-The “Feria de Abril”, in Seville; the “Corpus”, in Granada; the “Patios Competition” , in Cordoba; and Easter Processions, in the Holy Week there are some Andalusian “fiestas” festivities.
    - Flamenco music is typical from Andalusia.
    - Olive oil and cured ham are examples of Andalusian food.

    I Andalusia!

I really like your text Antonio, it has a lot of information. I especially like the sentence: 'I am proud of my Andalusian accent because it is part of our identity'. I like the Andalusian accent but for me it is difficult to understand sometimes!

    Well done!
